Najib: Malaysia's Performance To Be Judged From Speedy Decisions

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Malaysia's performance will be judged by its speedy decision making and execution.

"For 2010, I will stress on speedy decisions, quick implementation without sacrificing quality. This means we will stress on making fast and accurate decisions as it will be used as a yardstick to measure the country's competitiveness in the frontline," he said

This is because countries will be gauged based on its competitiveness index, World Bank Report and others.

"We will be judged, if Malaysia lags behind as it will erode the peoples' confidence. As such, we will emphasise on speed in order to deliver the peoples' expectation," he said when interviewed on TV3's "Soal Jawab Bersama Perdana Menteri" programme on Monday's night.

In the one-hour interview, the Prime Minister also stressed on the effectiveness of the government's transformation programme which would be incorporated into the National Key Result Areas (NKRAs) and National Key Performance Index (KPIs).
