Police urge 'molested' students to lodge report
JOHOR The police have urged the two
students of Southern University College who claimed to have been
molested by BN supporters on Monday at an event attended by BN head
Najib Abdul Razak to lodge a report.
In a text-message, Johor Bahru Utara district police chief ACP Ruslan Hassan told Malaysiakini that the police have yet to receive a report from the two students.
“I have contacted (Southern University College president) Thock (Kiah Wah, holding microphone) and asked him to urge the two females to lodge a police report,” he said.
The students, both 19, said yesterday they have yet to decide whether to lodge a police report as the college management has promised to resolve the issue.
They had been assigned as 'etiquette angels' to present Najib with a pen to sign a plaque during the ground-breaking ceremony for a new building for the college.
They alleged that they had been sexually molested by youths clad in BN T-shirts, who entered the campus in a motorcycle convoy along with Najib.
Addressing a protest rally organised by the students yesterday, Thock said the college respects the decision of the two students not to lodge a police report.
Last night the students held a signature drive at the outdoor car park of Sutera Mall in Skudai, where Pakatan Rakyat was holding a mega ceramah that attracted some 50,000 people.
Some 30 members of the alumni and members of the public protested in Kuala Lumpur yesterday against ‘political infiltration’ into the college campus.
Southern University College is a higher education institution established and funded by the Chinese community.
Pakatan was quick to capitalise on the incident.
During last night’s ceramah, DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang, who is also the candidate for the Gelang Patah parliamentary seat, condemned Najib for keeping silent on this issue.
“Do you feel hurt? Do you feel regret? Until now, has Najib (said anything)? Does (BN Gelang Patah candidate) Abdul Ghani Othman dare to condemn it?” Lim asked the crowd.
He insisted that Najib should take responsibility for the incident as it took place during the PM's visit to the college.

Cops prevent PKR-Hindraf violence
The two groups had rallies 500 metres apart in an Indian neighbourhood in Lunas.
By Athi Shankar
LUNAS: PKR supporters tried to disrupt a Hindraf gathering here today, but police managed to prevent the situation from turning ugly.
The gathering was held about 500 metres away from a PKR rally in the predominantly Indian neighbourhood of Paya Besar. Police presence was heavy.
Hindraf chairman P Waythamoorthy arrived to speak at the function at 4.45pm, nearly an hour after the start of the PKR rally, where one of the speakers was N Surendran, the party’s candidate for Padang Serai.
Sources said PKR activists decided to organise their rally after learning about Waythamoorthy’s visit.
The PKR crowd jeered as their Hindraf rivals cheered when he arrived.
PKR supporters tried to march to the Hindraf tent but were stopped by police in riot gear.
The commotion attracted scores of onlookers, causing severe traffic congestion in the area.
Both crowds dispersed peacefully after Waythamoorthy had left the place.
Waythamoorthy told reporters he had expected the hostility from PKR supporters because “they are sore losers”.
He was referring to his decision to back Barisan Nasional in the May 5 general election.
This morning, some PKR supporters held mock funeral rites for Waythamoorthy in the nearby residential area of Taman Bayam. They torched his portrait.
Surendran tried to distance himself from the hostility shown against Waythamoorthy in Paya Besar.
In a text message to FMT, he said it was not PKR that organised this afternoon’s rally, but the Kedah chapter of Hindraf, which has rejected the deal Waythamoorthy made with BN.
“As far as we are concerned, this is an internal Hidraf dispute,” he said.
He claimed he had stopped at the gathering as part of his campaign rounds.

Saiful’s dad makes 360 degree ‘sodomy’ turn
Azlan Mohd Lazim now claims his son was sodomised by Anwar Ibrahim.
UPDATED
PETALING JAYA: Making a full circle, Saiful Bukhari Azlan’s father admitted that his son was in fact sodomised by Opposition Leader and PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.
“To my family members especially my mother, siblings, family of my wife and especially to my son whom I have betrayed, I would like to apologise for making a wrong decision,” Azlan Mohd Lazim told a press conference.
Contrary to his earlier claim, he now said that the sodomy charge was not a political conspiracy as alleged by Anwar.
In March, Azlan, 60, dismissed Saiful’s sodomy allegation as a fabrication and joined PKR.
At the press conference, he also announced his resignation from PKR.
‘He was under pressure’
Meanwhile, PKR’s Sungai Petani parliamentary seat aspirant, Johari Abdul claimed that Azlan had called him numerous times in the past two weeks, saying that he was under “intense pressure”.
“I reminded Azlan that it was he who contacted me to rebut Saiful’s claims. I also told him that if you can’t handle the heat, then good luck to you,” he said.
Criticising Azlan, Johari said that at the age of 60, Saiful’s father should be man enough to be able to handle pressure during the general election.
“Umno’s style is always money and pressure. If you can’t take it, too bad. Man must live on his honour and respect. If you lose that, then you’re no better than any other creature,” he said.
And in an official party press statement issued later, Johari claimed that Azlan was never a PKR member.
“His membership to join the party has not been approved. I also want to stress that it was him who had wanted to meet us in the first place, and not the other way around.
“He was the one who offered to confess that the accusation made against Anwar was a political conspiracy. This turn of event today is not something unusual, especially during the GE period,” he added.
FMT failed to reach PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution for comments.

In Sungai Siput, a fight for MIC’s future
(TMI) - “MIC hasn’t been around. And suddenly they come with a lot of money and they have been giving out money,” Dr Jeyakumar told The Straits Times, expressing fear that this may sway votes in his opponents favour.
MIC is going all-out to win back the Sungai Siput seat previously held by Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu for three decades, for both a symbolic and political victory.
The former MIC president’s 30-year reign in Sungai Siput inextricably linked the federal seat to the party he once led, and his shock defeat there in 2008 made it appear as though it had lost home ground, The Straits Times reported today.
But in Election 2013, MIC is back with a vengeance, according to the Singapore newspaper.
It is fielding caretaker deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk SK Devamany and has spent more than RM3 million in the past three months alone on road repairs and other work in this constituency.
For MIC, Sungai Siput is not simply another seat. Aside from its long past with Samy Vellu, it also has a sizeable Indian community ― 21 per cent of the 51,709 voters or around double the proportion of Indians in Malaysia ― making it a quasi-referendum on the party’s political relevance.
MIC won only three parliamentary seats in 2008, but is contesting nine seats in Election 2013.
To start its fightback, MIC will need to dislodge PSM’s Dr Michael Jeyakumar, the soft-spoken political activist who took down Samy Vellu in 2008.
An independent, S. Nagalingam, has also thrown his hat in the ring.
This time, MIC may be aided by a less-focussed Indian community. Unlike in 2008 when the group found cohesion courtesy of HINDRAF, there is no such guiding force today.

Having attacked the government for oppressing Indians, HINDRAF signed a pact with Barisan Nasional (BN) last month, leading to a fracture in its own ranks.
But BN’s fielding of Perkasa vice-president Zulkifly Noordin, alleged to have disparaged both Hindus and Indians, has also outraged the community.
Such conflicts are not lost on the voters.

Hindu Minor Girl (student of sixth standard) raped by two Muslim miscreants in West Bengal. Public protested violently.
Hindu Girl allegedly gang-raped by Muslim perpetrators in Ranigunj, West Bengal. Hindu locals blocked road and vehicles set on fire amidst vehement retaliation.
Upananda Brahmachari | Raniganj | Ist May 2013:: Under the series of Rape Jihad, originated from Ayesha syndrome (including Mufa’ Khathat), two Islamic beasts named Mohammad Rajat Khan and Mohammad Kaliya Sheikh virtually raped one Hindu girl student of sixth standard on broad day light on Monday near Sasthigoria park in Ranigang Municipality, in the district of Burdwan, West Bengal.
As a spark of retaliation against the police inaction for an allegedly gang-rape on a minor student on her way back from school, the situation turned as a violent protest by the Hindu locals who set three vehicles on fire and damaged at least 30 others, including one belonging to the police, demanding that two Muslim youths who were allegedly involved in the crime of rape be handed to them.
Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissioner Ajay Nanda said police had to resort to lathicharge as the huge contingent of personnel and RAF that rushed to the site at Sasthigoria could not contain the situation. It is told that the two Muslim rapists were arrested afterwards.
A police driver was injured in the violence, he said, adding eight people were arrested in connection with this and police picket was posted in the area in view of the tension betwwen Hindus and Muslims.
Trouble started when the Hindu girl studying in class six of nearby school named ‘Basanti Devi Valika Vidyalaya’ was allegedly taken to a nearby solitary bushy place beside Sasthigoria Park and raped by two Muslim beasts, Rajat (this Muslim miscreant took an common Hindu name to hide his Islamic identity when doing a menace) and Kaliya, while the minor girl was on her way back from school at about 2 pm on 29th April. The girl reported the incident of molestation and rape to her family after her return to her residence at Purba College Para – Haspatalpatti area.
As per report, the Muslim rapists gave sedatives in drinks to that girl before that planned rape. Following this, the family of the victim Hindu minor girl and its neighbours went to the local police station to file a complaint at about 8 pm, which the police allegedly refused to register any case as the culprits were believed to be related to the ruling political party. They then blockaded Tarbangla Crossing on NH 60 from 11 pm to 3 am yesterday (30 April) in protest and stopped only after that the two men were arrested today.
However, locals and the girl’s family along with parents of other students indulged in violence on the highway demanding that the two be handed over to them or be given exemplary punishment. They also protested against alleged police inaction rather giving safe-guards to the Muslim rapists.
The girl underwent medical tests during the day, Police Commissioner Nanda added. The locality is still under tension. Hindu Youths of the locality made some contingent force to combat such Rape Jihad or Love Jihad against Hindu girls.
It is lastly reported that the local Muslim MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly), Soharab Ali of Trinamool Congress (TMC) is fully trying to rescue the Muslim rapists as they belong to the same belief of barbaric Islam.
