Bullets for lawyer of slain youths’ families

Five rounds wrapped in plastic found outside RSN Rayer's house.

GEORGE TOWN: Five bullets wrapped in a plastic bag were found this morning outside the house of RSN Rayer, the lawyer representing the families of the five youths whom police killed in Sungai Nibong on Monday.

Rayer, a DAP member and the state assemblyman for Seri Delima, has lodged a report at the Jelutong police station.

Police have collected the bullets and a video footage recorded by a CCTV installed in Rayer’s house.

Rayer said his nephew found the packet at 7.50am in the front yard of his home in Tingkat Tembaga in Island Park.

He added that the 10-year-old was frightened by his discovery and instantly reported it to Rayer’s father, who in turn alerted the assemblyman.

In his report, Rayer expressed fear for his and his family’s security and called for a thorough investigation.

He said he was considering fixing bullet-proof windows for his car.

This was the second time in 10 years that Rayer had received a threat in the form of bullets. In the previous incident, a bullet was sent to his legal office.
