Support letter: New village chief suspended

PETALING JAYA: The Selangor state government today suspended Kampung Baru Pandamaran new village chief Yap Hock Siew from his position with immediate effect for acting in a manner that will create conflict of interest.
Yesterday, FMT reported that Yap had issued a support letter on June 17 for a company which belongs to him, to procure a contract for maintenance and cleaing of river floodgates at Jalan Papan Pandamaran.

“We will carry out an investigation over the matter and I am sure all relevent parties will cooperate with us,” Selangor state executive councillor Ean Yong Hian Wah said in a press statement today.

He added that this proved that the Selangor government is committed towards offering the people an accountable and transparent administration.

“We will not hesistate to take stern action against anyone who are guilty of any corrupt practise,”said Ean Yong.
