Rakyat Fed Up With Infighting In Umno - Hishammuddin

KUALA TERENGGANU, Aug 15 (Bernama) -- Umno leaders are urged to stop fighting among themselves as the people are fed up with such antics, said Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

He said political bickering within the party should stop and focus should be given to efforts at developing the country.

"I believe even the public are fed up to see that we are quarrelling among ourselves. We have much more work to be done to build up the nation in the world that is getting smaller and more challenging," he told reporters after chairing a meeting of the Terengganu Umno Liaison Body, here Sunday.

Also present were Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said and all Umno divisional leaders in the state.

Hishammuddin, who is also the Terengganu Umno Liaison Body chairman, said this when asked to comment on the problems cropping up in several Umno divisions including in Setiu, Terengganu.

The problem in the division was apparent when four State Assemblymen from the parliamentary constituency did not turn up during the Setiu Umno division's delegates meeting which was opened by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, on July 16.

Shame on you! Just stand in front of PWTC and look up at its rooftop! What is written there? The big signboard with these letters UMNO - United Malays National Organization, a political party formed in 1946 but which is still DISUNITED till today!
