UMNO:How many of the 300 Malaysian students in Japan are Indians. Indians simply excluded from such National Human Potential development programs.
There are about 300 Malay students in 50 universities throughout Japan to enhance Malaysia’s quality of Human resources. (BH 29/4/10 at page 32). We would venture to guess as there are no statistics and the Official Secrets Act makes all such information a National high security secret and so no one of the public may know. What a wonderfully woven racist scheme.
But as almost always the Indians have been excluded in such opportunities and in the other 1,500 overseas scholarships given out by JPN, Petronas, Mara, TNB, TN, Yayasan and the 10,500 scholarships for local universities, worth RM2.44 Billion. (UM headlines 6/4/10). Mara alone sponsored 62,600 students including 6,831 overseas. Sponsorship was for critical courses areas like medicine, engineering, biotechnology, sanctuary science, accounts management and administration and architecture (NST 20/4/10 at page 20).
UMNO Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dato Seri Nazri Aziz has even in 2008 in reply to M.P for Bukit Mertajam Chong Eng in Parliament refused to make public the full list and full details of all overseas scholarships.
From our monitoring our estimate is a mere 0.1% of these overseas scholarships have been given out to Indians. But when we raise this level of UMNO’s racism, we become racists, even going by the PKR supremo.
Going on the basis of the population percentages, 7-8% Indians in our population, there should be at least 24 Indians be in that list of scholars sent to Japan, 120 getting the scholarships from the various GLCs listed above and 900 students in the local Universities and 500 Indian students sponsored for overseas studies on a budget like that allocated to the Mara overseas scholars.
This is the only country in the world where when minority communities complain of being victims of racism, such as in the racially lopsided allocation of funds for education, they become racists. This is the mechanism that proponents of racism use to keep its opponents at bay – just label them racists, and use the media to blare that loudly and repeatedly.
The racist system is so well crafted that even the opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim who is supposed to be working to eliminate racism and to supposedly create a multiracial system, joins in that chorus to call us racists.
Such a racist system like no other in the world – name one other country like this if you can.
