I cannot help but also take a swing at the BN Selangor convention (pls pardon the lack of links, a bit in a rush – maybe add later).
In truth, I think this is perfectly emblematic of the multiple personality disorder of BN under Najib.
In the space of a single convention, with “BN Mampu Berubah” blazed in large print on the stage, we see both liberal leanings about how Umno can’t go it alone, from someone speaking on a stage where only Umno leaders are allowed to sit – MCA, MIC, (I think Gerakan’s new acronym should be “etc”, ahaha) had to sit down there with the rest of the plebes.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, we have two Umno Selangor bigshots – one happily singing the 1Malaysia tune, the other yapping on about how non-Malays should be grateful for their citizenship :|
Haiyo! How old does this Noh Omar have to be to be blabbing on and on about this? How in goodness gracious do they expect to win Selangor back by playing dinosaur politics?
I think we should get a video clip of him saying that and just play it non-stop in Hulu Selangor.
Najib, incidentally, is the BN/Umno chairperson for Selangor. If he cannot keep hardliner dissidents of his 1Malaysia plan in check even in one state, how is he going to really stay true to 1Malaysia throughout.. well, Malaysia?!
Between the Umno song, the stage seating, and those ridiculous citizenship comments, MCA and MIC were understandably pissed, reaffirming what everyone but themselves knows – that they are but lapdogs.
I dunno about you, but I’m seeing signs of a crumbling coalition. Trapped in an outdated racial mode that just doesn’t work.
