IPOH, March 23 — A woman and her son were killed when they were hit by a car after falling from their motorcycle in Jalan Bercham-Tanjung Rambutan here last night.
Ipoh traffic police chief DSP Mohd Rodzi Rejab said they were identified as Mohd Ariff Adam Yusri, 18, who was riding the motorcycle, and his mother Awaliah Mohd Ali Napiah, 42, the pillion rider.
The victims, who were from Kampung Tersusun Batu 8 Hulu Kinta, died on the spot due to serious head and body injuries in the 10.14pm incident, he said when contacted.
He said the motorcycle they were travelling on went out of control and skidded as they were making their way from Tanjung Rambutan to Bercham, throwing both of them on the road.
A car, travelling in the same direction, hit them, dragging them for about 23m, he added.
The car driver had lodged a report over the incident, he added. — Bernama
