KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Senator Datuk T. Murugiah said today that he is giving the Registrar of Societies (ROS) two weeks to give a reply to his appeal, failing which he would resort to the courts for redress.
"I have the right to take legal action to challenge the decisions taken by the ROS in order to clear my name, especially in the terms of the perception of the people," he told reporters at Parliament's lobby on Tuesday.
Murugiah is appealing the ROS' decisions in upholding Datuk M. Kayveas as the rightful president of the PPP and that an extraordinary general meeting of the PPP held in May in which he (Murugiah) was elected as the new president of the party as invalid.
The EGM was held following Murugiah's sacking from the PPP.
