PENANG, July 22 — The Penang government and residents of Kampung Buah Pala have reached an understanding over the eviction notice given to them, said Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.
He said a follow up meeting would be held with 24 families from the village on Friday.
Lim, who held a meeting with 24 representatives of the village at his office in the Komtar building here today, said both parties had also agreed not to issue any statements on the matter to the media to avoid further controversies.
On July 16, only seven families living in the village had turned up to meet Lim when he held his first meeting to try and resolve their eviction problem. – Bernama
