KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 (Bernama) -- Bukit Gantang Member of Parliament and former Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin was today dismissed from the Dewan Rakyat for dress code violation and unparliamentary conduct seconds after the new MP had taken his oath of office.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia ordered Nizar to leave the house for having violated the parliamentary dress code by wearing an armband and for shouting "Hidup Rakyat, Bubar DUN" (Long Live the People, Dissolve (Perak) State Assembly), which led other members of the opposition in the house to echo his words and cause an uproar.
