As if the Burmese haven’t been made to suffer enough already, back home and back in slave trading Malaysia.
Why? Why is it so hard for cops to just concentrate on preventing real crime?

16 Refugees arrested during a Special Celebration of Burma’s Democratic Leader Aung San Suu Kyi’s 64 Birthday at Taman Jaya
The authority’s intolerance to peaceful assembly continued, when the police arrested 16 Burmese refugees at Taman Jaya during a special celebration of Burma’s democratic leader Aung San Suu Kyi’s 64 birthdays before the event started.
The Pakatan Rakyat Selangor and Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) hold a special celebration today on Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 64 birthdays and to show solidarity support to her who still under detain by Burma military junta.
All of them were arrested around 9pm after people started gather for the event. All those arrested now are detained in the Petaling Jaya district police station and denial lawyer access. They might be moved to immigration.
We strongly urge the police to release all the individuals arrested immediately and unconditionally. We also demand that the Malaysia government recognise the refugee’s status and providing protection to them, while guaranteed the people rights to assembly and stop the assault on freedom of expression.
