Waytha Moorthy’s mother dies at 69

His jailed brother, Uthaya Kumar, is allowed to attend the funeral. 

PETALING JAYA: Hindraf leader P Waytha Moorthy’s mother, G Kalaivani, died at Seremban General Hospital today.

She was 69 and had been warded for a lung infection.

Waytha Moorthy is a deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department. His brother P Uthaya Kumar, also a Hindraf leader, is serving a jail sentence in Kajang for sedition.

Uthaya Kumar’s wife, S Indra Devi, told FMT that Kajang Prison officers will accompany her husband to the funeral tomorrow morning.

Kalaivani was admitted to the hospital last month.
