Another YouTube video mocking Project IC

A video showing Bangladeshis receiving MyKads with the Malaysia Truly Asia theme song in the background goes viral on the social networking site.

PETALING JAYA: The creative juices of pro-reform movements appear to be on overdrive nearing the general election, with the creation of another video titled Malaysia Truly Asia Edisi PRU 13, which pokes fun at Project IC.

The 55-second video, posted on YouTube by one known as Nasi Kandar 1957, shows several Bangladeshi men selling pirated discs along a road pavement.

The disc sellers later started running away after hearing the police were coming but were eventually caught by the authorities.

While squatting on the road, a “police man” asked them why they were fleeing from the scene when he only wanted to give them MyKads.

At this juncture, the Bangladeshi men started smiling, with the Malaysia Truly Asia campaign song playing in the background.

“Don’t be surprised. Even foreign workers can vote in Malaysia under Barisan Nasional. Say no to BN,” read the caption at the end of the video

One commentator named Nurul Afikah said,” I can only laugh thinking about what will happen to us 20 years down the road.”

Another commentator named Razman Rahman echoed Nurul’s sentiments, saying that was the reality in Malaysia.

The video currently has 104, 163 viewers, with 732 likes and 71 dislikes.
