Free ISA 45 vigil held at Lake Gardens

A candlelight vigil calling for the release of 45 ISA detainees was held along a road near the Lake Gardens tonight.

Participants at the vigil held placards reminding passers by that the some of the detainees are believed to be in the 10th day of a hunger strike.

Why are there still ISA detainees when Najib announced last year that the ISA would be abolished?
If anything, the Kamunting Detention Centre should be shut down and turned into a museum piece as a permanent reminder of the human rights abuses under the ISA and a warning to future leaders to never again violate the basic rights of the people. That’s the proposal by the Abolish ISA Movement (GMI).
