Rahim, Eskay 'know nothing' about leaked video

(Malaysiakini) Risda chairperson and former Malacca chief minister Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik and businessperson Shazryl Eskay Abdullah say they know nothing about the leaking of the sex video on YouTube.

"I do not know anything. I have not watched it (on the Internet). Everything has been handed to the police," Rahim said when contacted by Malaysiakini before he cut the line on his handphone.

A similar response came from Eskay, who said he had been unwell for two days, being down with flu and fever.

"I was just asked by a reporter whether this is the video. I do not know if it is the same clip, as my computer is down and I cannot access the Internet," he said.

"I have asked someone to come to fix the computer (for me to see and verify). However, the person has yet to come," said the Kedah-based businessperson.

azlanAsked whether he was responsible for it being posted on the Internet, Eskay replied "I have given all items to the police. Call me back later after an hour," he said.

The close to two minutes leaked video clip has been a hot watch on YouTube since this afternoon, showing a person resembling the Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim with a woman in a room. A third man is also seen, but his face is not shown.

Eskay, a friend of Anwar and who was behind the original screening of the clip to journalists and editors at Carcosa Seri Negara on March 21, has asked for Anwar and his wife, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, to resign their posts following the release of the video.

However, Anwar has denied he is the person behind the video, and has accused Umno of being behind it.

Following the exposure by Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul of Eskay's role in the release of the video clip, the 'Datuk T' trio of Rahim, Eskay and Perkasa treasurer-general Shuib Lazim, have claimed responsibility for its release.

Following this, Bukit Aman police have recorded their statements.
