SERDANG, March 28 (Bernama) -- A drunk, who was reprimanded by his son for standing stark naked in front of their house at Bandar Sungai Mas in Banting, Selangor, stabbed him to death Sunday night.
The 20-year-old factory operator who was stabbed in the chest, died on the spot in the incident about 8.30pm.
The body was sent to the Banting Hospital.
The assailant, in his 40s, who panicked upon learning that he had killed his son, fled from the scene.
About 11am Monday, a police team detained the suspect at a Petronas petrol station in Teluk Panglima Garang near here to facilitate investigations.
Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the unemployed man was being investigated for murder.
He said initial investigations had revealed that the suspect, who was standing naked in front of the house, was ticked off by his son.
"Furious, the man who was believed to have been drunk, grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his son in the chest," he told a press conference here Monday.
Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah, who was also present at the conference, said that police went to Parti Keadilan Rakyat deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali's house Sunday night to hand over a notice, requiring him to give a statement at the Ampang police station.
He said the aim was to obtain a statement from Mohamed Azmin to facilitate investigations into an illegal ceramah the latter had attended last Friday.
