KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 (Bernama) -- Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim Wednesday said the appointment of a non-Malay as Deputy Prime Minister if Pakatan Rakyat took over Putrajaya after the 13th General Election, should not be questioned.
Anwar who is also the opposition De Facto Leader said other races should also be given an opportunity to be appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister or Minister.
The former Deputy Prime Minister who was reported to have said in a Chinese daily on Nov 26, that he would offer DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang the post of Deputy Prime Minister, if the Pakatan Rakyat won the General Election, told reporters when met at the Parliament lobby here Wednesday.
PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang however, said Pakatan Rakyat had never arrived at such a consensus on the post of Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister and that Anwar's statement was his personal view.
Abdul Hadi when met at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition 2010 (MAHA 2010) on Tuesday said he was not aware that Lim would be appointed Deputy Prime Minister if Pakatan Rakyat won the General Election.
Anwar when asked to confirm his statement on the appointment of the Deputy Prime Minister, claimed that the actual facts of his statement during the interview had been 'twisted' by the media.
However, he refused to comment any further.
Meanwhile, Anwar said he had expected Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to call for the General Election earlier and his announcement Tuesday to postpone the Umno election by 18 months, points towards the election.
Najib when making the announcement Tuesday had said that the Umno election was postponed for 18 months to allow the party to strengthen itself.
Anwar said Umno leaders were not brave enough to hold the party election as per the new system approved last year, and were only good for attacking his party.
He also urged Najib to announce the date of the general election early.
"I challenge Najib to walk his talk of democracy and I want the Election Commission to clean up the electoral list and allow the people to vote and make a decision," he said.

PAS will never agree with it. Now they are saying that Anwar's decision to let Lim Kit Siang be the DPM is just his own opinion. Who to trust?
Anwar make decision without discuss with PAS. Anwar not respect PAS.
Anwar make PAS disappointed. If PR won this GE13 and take over Putrajaya, Anwar will give the DPM to DAP adviser. How about PAS adviser Nik ajiz??Just the boneka ka??
even Anwar also did not practice democracy in making the decision.
May be it could be happen, when you are the PM, but i am thinking, you would never be!!!!
