The Finance Ministry's Secretary General of Treasury, Tan Sri Dr Wan Abdul Aziz bin Wan Abdullah in a statement Thursday said the decision was also reiterated by Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Husni Hanazlah during his winding up speech on the tabling of the 10th Malaysia Plan on June 29.
"The reply in Parliament, which was distributed on July 6, 2010 by the Finance Ministry, in response to a question from the Member of Parliament for Pokok Sena, Mahfuz Omar, on the issuance of license to Ascot Sports was the original answer that had been prepared before the government made the final decision," Wan Abdul Aziz said.
On June 25, Najib had said that the decision was made after taking into account views given by various parties and a clear indication that a majority of them did not agree to the license being issued.
