Lagi skandal video ‘Anwar’ didedah

Video selama 1:20 minit itu disiarkan penulis blog pro-Barisan Nasional Papa Gomo dengan audio dan berwarna.

PETALING JAYA: Ketua Pembangkang Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim dikaitkan lagi sebagai individu dalam satu skandal video dengan seorang lelaki yang didakwa seorang mahasiswa berumur 19 tahun.

Video selama 1:20 minit itu disiarkan penulis blog pro-Barisan Nasional (BN) Papa Gomo dengan audio dan berwarna memaparkan individu mirip Anwar berbual dengan lelaki yang dipercayai memasang rakaman kamera secara tersembunyi.

Anwar: Daripada rumah I lah (ketawa)

Lelaki: Yalah betullah mana boleh percaya. You fikir kalau you in my shoes percaya tak?

Lelaki: Hah yalah tu la I cakap betul ke you punya twitt…

Ini merupakan pendedahan rakaman kedua yang cuba mengaitkan Anwar dengan skandal salah laku dalam tempoh seminggu selepas beberapa gambar sepasang lelaki berpelukan yang didedahkan dalam blog rajagoyang360 Sabtu lalu.

Tindakan menyiarkan video terbabit juga dikatakan selepas Papa Gomo mendakwa Anwar tersalah memfitnah dirinya sebagai pemilik blog Raja Goyang dan enggan menarik balik saman RM100 juta.

‘Saman RM100 juta’

“Saman RM100 juta yang difailkan Anwar Ibrahim memberikan satu peluang besar buat Papa Gomo untuk mendedahkan lebih banyak kegiatan jijik Anwar serta membawa saksi saksi lain dalam perbicaraan ini termasuk Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, China Doll, dua orang mahasiswa yang diliwat, Zulkifli Nordin, bekas pengasas PKR Ng Lum Yum, Zahid Mat Arip, Datuk S Nallakaruppan, N Gobalakrishnan dan seorang pemimpin kanan PAS,” katanya dalam blog beliau.

Anwar melalui peguam N Surendran pagi tadi memfailkan saman RM 100 juta terhadap Papa Gomo di Mahkamah Tinggi Kuala Lumpur selepas gagal menarik balik tuduhannya dalam tempoh 48 jam.

Sementara itu penulis blog (Papa Gomo) mendakwa, beliau telah menemui mahasiswa tersebut pada Februari lalu dan telah mengaku melakukan perbuatan suka sama suka.

Beliau turut mengaku bertanggungjawab sepenuhnya dengan pendedahan skandal terbabit tanpa bantuan mana-mana pihak dalam kerajaan.

“Gomo nak tegaskan di sini kepada semua. Ianya bukan soal wang kerana walaupun RM10 juta atau RM1 billion Anwar cuba tawarkan hakikatnya apa yang dilakukan Gomo adalah untuk rakyat agama, bangsa dan negara.

“Gomo bukan pemimpin politik atau berjawatan besar tetapi Gomo mewakili jutaan rakyat Malaysia yang mahukan kebenaran dalam memilih pemimpin yang benar dan bukannya jijik,” katanya.

Anwar fail saman fitnah ke atas Papagomo

Ketua pembangkang Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim memfailkan saman fitnah ke atas penulis blog Papagomo selepas individu yang dikaitkan dengan Umno itu gagal memohon maaf dan menarik balik satu siri gambar lucah.

Penulis blog itu yang nama sebenarnya Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, mendakwa foto berkenaan merupakan ramakan daripada video yang didakwa menujukkan keintiman Anwar dengan seorang lelaki.

Peguam dan naib presiden PKR N Surendran ketika memfailkan saman itu berkata notis 48 jam untuk Papagomo menarik balik dan memohon maaf atas penerbitan berkenaan telah tamat dan penulis blog tersebut mengancam untuk memuatkan video terbabit.

Peguam itu berkata Anwar juga tidak akan membuat laporan polis atau aduan kepada Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia memandangkan tindakan itu sudah banyak kali dilakukan sebelum ini.

“Nampaknya agensi ini tidak akan bertindak ke atas aduan keran mereka adalah alat Umno dan BN. Memfailkan tindakan di mahkamah adalah lebih baik,” katanya.

Anwar menamakan Wan Muhammad Azri sebagai defendan tunggal. Selain kuantum, MP Permatang Pauh itu turut menuntut ganti rugi am, teruk dan teladan.

Beliau juga memohon injunksi untuk menghalang Papagomo daripada mengulang semua atau menerbitkan kenyataan serupa.

‘Video recording of explicit act not Umno’s work’

Umno Information Chief Ahmad Maslan urges the people to watch the video and make their own judgement.

MALACCA: Umno has denied the party is involved with a video grab showing explicit act resembling a political figure with a male partner.

Information chief Ahmad Maslan said the opposition will certainly blame Umno but the party had never arranged such perverse act in a hotel room.

“The opposition thinks everything is the work of Umno including the intrusion of Lahad Datu. We don’t have the time to put cameras in hotel rooms,” he told reporters after opening a briefing for information speakers here today.

He said this when commenting on a video grab showing two men involved in explicit act, including hugs and kisses, on the blog rajagoyang360.blogspot.com.

The Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said the people could judge who was the political figure shown in the video recording.

“Don’t dismiss without watching the video. Watch it and then make your own judgement,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ahmad called on the Umno and Barisan Nasional machinery to have confidence that the party could win two-thirds majority in 13th general election.

The confidence was based on the success of programmes and policies implemented by the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.

He said the opposition did not have any strength and had failed to fufill promises made to the people other than having leaders who were involved with various scandals.

Yesterday, Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim lashed out at Umno’s “political gimmick” in producing a video clip involving a man resembling him.

“I have already said that I deny it. This is a disgusting political gimmick executed by Umno,” he said, adding that he has asked his lawyers to handle the possibility of taking legal action against the bloggers who uploaded the series of 14 black-and-white photos.

‘There’s still the sex video issue’

Singapore political analyst Bridget Welsh is skeptical about Anwar Ibrahim's victory and the BN government's apparent yielding to the ruling.

PETALING JAYA: It has been 14 years since the first sodomy charge was slapped against Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim and yesterday’s unexpected verdict has left analysts with mixed feelings.

Some believe that the government may finally end its persecution of Anwar as it has more to lose than gain by pursuing the matter, while others fear that another plan is underway to imprison him on a technicality.

Anwar, a former deputy prime minister, was yesterday acquitted and discharged from a sodomy charge – his second – levelled against him. The sodomy II case, which began in 2010, was brought against him by his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari who is almost 40 years his junior.

In an immediate reaction Anwar, greeting thousands of supporters who thronged Jalan Duta Court Complex yesterday, said he was finally “vindicated”.

Being the galvanizing figure of a disparate opposition coalition, Anwar was credited for the 2008 political tsunami which saw Barisan Nasional lose five states – Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor – to the opposition DAP, PAS and PKR. BN wrested back Perak shortly after in a reverse takeover.

Since then Umno-led BN has been obsessed with discrediting Anwar and in the process has seen its own sway over voters, particularly the Malays, drop.

According to Ooi Kee Beng, Deputy Director of the Institute of Southeast Asia Studies, ISEAS, the BN government cannot afford to further persecute Anwar.

He opined that the persecution on the de-facto PKR head may end here as the BN government stands to lose further political clout if it continues to crucify the Permatang Pauh MP in the future.

Appeal unlikely

Ooi added that Anwar and this sodomy case would not drag on further as an appeal would not highlight any new aspects to the case which the the prosecution had already “failed” to establish during the year-long trial.

Asked if the issue of this sodomy case would be prolonged, Ooi answered in the negative.

“Of course the government can bring upon charges against him in the future but for this case, this is all they have and it failed.

“In order to appeal you need a good case you can’t just appeal for fun.

“The prosecution has done everything they could (during the trial) and yet they have failed.

“Anwar’s persecution has gone too far (and) in this time and age with all the information flow it will not work in their (the government’s) favour,” he told FMT.

Fellow political analyst, James Chin of Monash University also said that Anwar may be spared from further prosecution.

Chin indicated that the message from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) delivered through Information, Communications and Culture Minister Rais Yatim was a signal that there will be no further appeals on this case.

“There will be no appeal because PMO has already issued a statement declaring how the verdict has proven that the judiciary is independent,” said Chin.

AG yet to decide on appeal

In an immediate reaction to the verdict, Rais had in a statement declared that the verdict showed that the Malaysian judiciary was independent and “reputable”.

While calling for the verdict to be respected, Rais added that he was proud that the court had “discharged its duties without fear or favour”.

Yesterday FMT reported that the prosecution team has yet to decide if they will appeal the case.

Chief prosecutor Mohd Yusoff Zainal Abiden said they will wait for the written judgment before any decision is made to appeal the court ruling.

While complainant Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan is fervently hoping that they will appeal, many other parties, however, have voiced hope that the Attorney-General’s chambers will not waste more public funds by pursuing the matter.

Sex video issue

Meanwhile another political analyst Bridget Welsh said the celebrations over Anwar’s release may be short-lived.

“I don’t want to prejudge but there is always a possibility that this isn’t the last of the case.

“The second sodomy case has gone on for almost three years and was taken to court without concrete evidence so there is always a chance that it can be prolonged via the appeal process,” said Welsh, who is an an associate professor in political science at the Singapore Management University.

Welsh reminded that the smearing campaign and persecution is far from over, and Anwar has the sex-video scandal which surfaced last March.

“There is the sex video tape investigations that are still ongoing,” she said, referring to the revelation of a sex video by the trio dubbed ‘Datuk T’ of a man resembling Anwar allegedly having sex with a Chinese prostitute.

In the latest twist to the sex video issue, a probe was launched against Anwar last November after the investigating officer in the case, DSP Shanmugan Moorthy, lodged a police report that Anwar had knowingly given him false information, an offence under Section 182 of the Penal Code.

Anwar has claimed that the sex-video allegations are politically motivated and that this new twist, was a desperate attempt to “keep him busy” and imprison him.

RPK says confident Anwar man in sex video

(The Malaysian Insider) - Raja Petra Kamarudin said today he was “90 per cent” sure the man in the Datuk T sex video was Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and that many of his friends believed in the authenticity of the video.
The self-exiled blogger told Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia in an interview that he was initially unsure whether it was Anwar in the video, and that he was certain the latter would not be so “stupid to let himself get caught.”
“I feel that there are more people who believe in the video. Many of them, Anwar’s close friends I met in the UK, Liverpool, Manchester ... they honestly say Anwar is (the one) in the video.
“I think the person is Anwar. I am not saying 100 per cent but 90 per cent or more that is Anwar,” he was quoted by Mingguan Malaysia as saying.
Raja Petra said his opinion changed when Anwar had during a press conference denied knowing Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, one of the three men responsible for screening the video.
The Malaysia Today portal editor claimed that Anwar had called him three years ago and asked him to help out a “friend” — Shazryl.
“Anwar said the problem was that the government suspected Eskay smuggled me out of Malaysia. The government suspected I went to Langkawi and Eskay (a former Thai honorary consulate) made a Thai passport for me and smuggled me out to Thailand through Langkawi.
“He (Anwar) said the government was causing problems for Eskay and that I had to explain things to clear his name,” said Raja Petra.
He said he then clarified the matter through a posting on his portal, stating how he left Malaysia, and that he did not know Shazryl.
“That was three years ago. Now Anwar says he does not know Eskay ... this made me think and realise. I know Anwar knows Eskay, just say that you really know him. This is actually quite funny,” added the blogger.
Raja Petra said that the PKR de facto leader’s outburst at a press conference during the Sarawak state election when asked about his Omega watch showed he had something to hide.
“Yes, the fact is that if you need to lie, that means you have something to hide. You must be guilty.”
Anwar has repeatedly denied that he was the man seen having sex with a prostitute in the 21-minute video which was first aired to the media in cloak-and-dagger fashion by a mysterious ‘Datuk T’ at a prestigious hotel in April this year.
It was later revealed that Datuk T referred to three notable public figures — former Malacca Chief Minister Tan Sri Rahim Thamby Chik, businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and former Perkasa treasurer-general Datuk Shuib Lazim.
The latest probe on the case was opened after investigating officer DSP Shanmugan Moorthy lodged a police report claiming Anwar committed the offence under section 182 of the Penal Code.
The crime is punishable with a six-month jail term or a fine of RM2,000.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin had recently said the probe on the sex video was complete and investigation papers handed over to the Attorney-General but the case was sent back to the police to include Anwar’s statement.
He has slammed the police for failing to act on a previous report he had lodged against the Datuk T trio where he accused them of criminal intimidation.
He has also accused BN of masterminding the latest probe against him in the Datuk T sex video saga.
The Opposition leader is also awaiting the verdict on his second sodomy charge, where he is accused of sodomising a former aide.
The former deputy prime minister has vehemently denied the charge, saying that it is part of a ploy to destroy his political career.

Sex tape: Cops probe Anwar over 'false information'

The BN and Umno are using government machinery in trying to implicate Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim in another attempt of political persecution, PKR said today.

This follows the start of a police probe to take action against Anwar under Section 182 of the Penal Code for giving "false information to injure another person".

Anwar's police report concerned the 'Datuk T' sex tape, which was initially screened to several members of the mass media at a luxury hotel in Kuala Lumpur last March, before being uploaded on the Internet.

"Anwar has been asked to give his statement to the police this week, but we have persuaded them that it be done on Wednesday at the Kepong police station," Subang MP Sivarasa Rasiah, who is also a PKR supreme council member, said.
"The same person who took Anwar's report on the sex tape, DSP S Shanmugamoorthy, lodged a report against the opposition leader two months ago."

Against this background, Sivarasa said, the move appeared to be yet another attempt at political persecution of Anwar.

He said indications of such persecution have been there for the past couple of months, when Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar indicated that police would initiate investigations against Anwar on his sex tape police report.

Surendran: We are disturbed

Party vice-president N Surendran said PKR was disturbed and appalled that the police have commenced a new criminal investigation against their MP for Permatang Pauh.

"This is a new and desperate attempt to prosecute and imprison, to halt the movement for national political and economic reforms and to prevent Pakatan Rakyat from winning federal power in the coming general election.

"We will not hesitate to say that Umno and BN are behind this latest political persecution. They have done so against Anwar in 1998, again in 2008 and now," Surendran said.

To make matters worse, he said, attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail, who has been tainted in the past with allegations of fabrication of evidence, would also have a hand in this case.
Surendran emphasised that the latest move by Umno/BN in using the government agencies would not augur well for Malaysia’s tattered reputation.

“The political persecution of the national opposition leader by the corrupt use of enforcement agencies is doing immense damage to Malaysia’s international reputation.

“Umno/BN is bringing our country down to the level of Assad’s Syria or Egypt under Mubarak. We call upon the BN government, the IGP and the AG to immediately stop and drop the latest politically-motivated investigation and cease all police and prosecutorial harassment and intimidation of Anwar.”

Rafizi: An attempt to divert attention

Party strategic director Rafizi Ramli, who was also present, described the latest move as an attempt to divert attention from the wrongdoings of BN/Umno.

He said there are a lot of issues of corruption and abuse of power as highlighted by the opposition recently.

“This latest move is to divert from all the wrongdoings - the National Feedlot Corporation exposure, along with other allegations of abuse of power and corruption.

Sivarasa expects that in coming weeks Anwar’s latest setback will be highlighted extensively.

“We expect Umno/BN will get itself involved in low-level gutter politics to further humiliate Anwar as the polls approaches,” he said.

Sivarasa added that police have appointed senior investigating officer ASP The Boon Ang to the case and he will record Anwar’s statement next Wednesday.

He added they also do not have any clues as to the identity of the “third person” whom Anwar allegedly injured as stated in the investigations.

“I guess we will find out more next week,” he said.

The Datuk T trio of businessperson Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, Risda chairperson Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and former Perkasa treasurer Shuib Lazim had pleaded guilty to a charge of showing the obscene video and was fined.

Lagi video ‘Anwar’ di Bangkok ditayang

Video dalam blog upahan Umno pagi tadi mendakwa kejadian itu berlaku semasa Anwar berada di Patpong, Bangkok.

(Video Didalam) PETALING JAYA: Skandal klip video adegan lucah yang didakwa melibatkan Ketua Pembangkang Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim didedahkan lagi, kini dikatakan berlaku pada 13 Januari lalu di Bangkok, Thailand.

Klip video kira-kira dua minit itu mula dimuat naik dalam blog upahan Umno pagi tadi, mendakwa kejadian itu berlaku semasa Anwar berada di Patpong, Bangkok dua hari sejak 12 Januari lalu.

Bertajuk “Paman Anwar di Patpong Bangkok”, adegan itu dirakam dalam sebuah bilik dan kamera difokuskan ke arah katil menunjukkan tempoh masa bermula pada pukul 1.54 pagi dan waktu terakhir pada 8.30 pagi.

Manakala pelaku yang dikatakan ‘Anwar’ itu kelihatan memakai jubah mandi sedang berlegar-legar disekeliling bilik sambil memegang telefon bimbit.

Bagaimanapun, visual kamera itu gagal menunjukkan jelas rupa paras individu dalam video tersebut, tambahan ia rakaman hitam-putih.

Penulis blog upahan Umno ‘Papa Gomo’ dalam blognya mendakwa Anwar berlepas ke Bangkok pada 12 Januari lalu menggunakan pesawat Malaysia Airlines (MAS) bernombor MH 782 dan berlepas pada jam 3.15 petang dari Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (KLIA).

Katanya, Anwar kemudiannya tiba di Bangkok pada jam 4.20 petang waktu Thailand atau jam 5.30 petang waktu Malaysia.

“Video ini adalah rakaman tulen dan sahih seratus peratus ketulenannya. Pelaku didalam video ini juga adalah Datuk Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim yang mana beliau tahu dan pasti beliau adalah pelakunya,” kata penulis blog itu.

Beliau mendakwa setelah lebih kurang 19 jam berada di Bangkok untuk ‘aktiviti-aktiviti’ dan ‘tugas-tugas rasmi’ tertentu, Anwar pulang ke tanah air pada pukul 11.05 pagi dengan menggunakan pesawat MAS bernombor MH 785 dan tiba di KLIA pada pukul 2.15 petang dan kemudiannya ke Ibu Pejabat PAS di Kuala Lumpur pada pukul 5.30 petang.

Penulis blog itu turut membangkitkan persoalan mengenai kegiatan setiap kali pemergian Anwar ke Thailand sejak dua tahun lalu, soalan sama yang pernah diutarakan ahli perniagaan ‘Datuk T’ Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah sebelum ini dalam skandal video seks yang lalu.

“Rakaman penuh akan menyusul dan harus kita ingat bukan kami nak mengaibkan Anwar Ibrahim dan para keluarganya namun demi menyelamatkan rakyat Malaysia maka pekara sebegini haruslah didedahkan agar rakyat memilih pemimpin yang berkaliber bagi memimpin kita,” katanya.

What if it was Najib in the sex video?

Some NGOs want to know why Pakatan Rakyat leaders are remaining silent on Anwar being implicated in a sex scandal and would they keep quiet if it was Najib Tun Razak.

PETALING JAYA: Would Pakatan Rakyat leaders remain silent if there was a video implicating Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak in a sex scandal?

This was a question an NGO popped up when referring to the latest video on Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.

The video snippet allegedly showed Anwar entering a hotel with businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah.

Commenting on the video, Coalition of Malay Students in Peninsular Malaysia (GPMS) secretary-general Zambri Mohd Isa criticised opposition supporters for practising double standard.

“When Kelana Jaya MP Low Gwo Burne recorded a video of a lawyer allegedly trying to fix judicial appointments, the opposition leaders went to town with it prompting a Royal Commission of Inquiry to be established to investigate the matter.

“But when it comes to Anwar’s case, not even a squeak is heard from his supporters,” Zambri said.

Last week, pro-Umno blogger Papagomo posted the new video snippet purportedly linking Anwar to the sex video released in April.

Early this year, a trio calling themselves “Datuk Trio” released a video allegedly showing Anwar engaged in sex with a prostitute.

In an extension to the video, Papagomo released the latest snippet last week showing “Anwar” entering a hotel lift with Shazryl. Shazryl is one of trio that released the sex video early this year.

Impeachment in Parliament

Zambri hailed former health minister Dr Chua Soi Lek’s decision to resign from office in 2008 after he was implicated in a sex scandal.

He said that even Selangor opposition leader, Dr Mohd Khir Toyo, resigned from office last year when implicated in a corruption scandal.

“But Anwar refuses to even swear in the mosque to prove his innocence,” he added.

As a people’s representative, Zambri said Anwar should answer all the allegations against him.

“He is not a common man in the street. Anwar is a parliamentarian. If we want to be a great nation, we must be brave to face this,” he said.

Selangor Coalition of NGOs against Corruption (GAPS) chairman Hamidzun Khairuddin said that Parliament should impeach Anwar over the allegations.

“If Anwar is not investigated, it will make a mockery of our august house,” Hamidzun said.

With Anwar’s moral standing under a cloud, he said it was time for someone from DAP or PAS to take over Pakatan’s helm.

“We have to address this moral decay. In my view, (PAS president) Hadi Awang and (DAP secretary-general) Lim Guan Eng are morally superior to Anwar,” he added.

Best to ignore

However, PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub dismissed the NGOs’ arguments and reiterated their support for Anwar.

“In principle, we stick to qazaf where an accuser must provide four witnesses to prove their allegation. In Anwar’s case, no witnesses have come forward,” Salahuddin said.

On whether Anwar’s indifference over the matter would hurt Pakatan, Salahuddin dismissed the notion outright.

“For decades the government had accused Anwar of many things but the people are still with us as they know the truth,” he said.

On why Anwar refused to comment on the recent allegation, the PAS leader said that probably Anwar was tired responding to the accusation.

“I think he is just fed up with it. It’s best for him to ignore it,” he said.

Echoing Salahuddin’s sentiments, DAP Youth leader Anthony Loke also said Anwar’s alleged sexual misconduct issue is just being played up to confuse the public.

“Let’s just ignore the matter and move forward, “ said Loke.

French woman in Malaysia 'killed for refusing sex'

A Malaysian man was charged Tuesday with the murder of a French tourist, a government prosecutor said, as a report quoted police saying the woman was killed after refusing his sexual advances.

Stephanie Foray, a 30-year-old civil servant, went missing in Malaysia in May and her remains were found earlier this month buried in a cave on the resort island of Tioman, off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia.

She and the suspect Asni Omar, a 36-year-old local businessman, had been drinking together on the island and she was later killed after refusing to have sex with him, the New Straits Times quoted police sources as saying.

Asni was charged with murder in a court in the town of Pekan, prosecutor Amalina Zainal Mokhtar told AFP, adding that he faced death by hanging if convicted.

He has not yet entered a plea, she said.

Asni earlier took investigators to a trash dumping site on Tioman to retrieve the murder weapon, a bottle, the New Straits Times said.

Amalina said she had no details on the alleged crime, while police declined to confirm specifics to AFP.
Foray had arrived in Malaysia on May 5 and went missing shortly after taking a ferry five days later to Tioman island.

She had left France last November on a holiday that took her to India and Sri Lanka before arriving in Malaysia.

US professors stay mum on sex video

(Malaysiakini) Two American college professors who conducted facial recognition analysis on the Carcosa sex video alleged to be of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, shied away from the media after the Datuk T trial ended in a guilty verdict for the video screeners late last month.

During the Datuk T trial, defence counsel Muhammad Shafee Abdullah claimed that the computer science duo from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire had concluded a 99.99 percent match between the man in the video and a known photo of the PKR de facto leader.

However the professors have not return multiple requests from Malaysiakini for comment on the subject.

Of the two academics, Lorenzo Torresani, an assistant professor of computer science, has written several papers on 3-D modeling, object classification and motion styles.

The National Science Foundation Career award recipient previously worked at several industrial research labs, including Microsoft Research Cambridge, Like.com and Digital Persona.

As part of a visual learning research group at Dartmouth, Torresani studies ways to create real-world models of visual data.

Known from Osama case

Hany Farid - whose research focuses on digital forensics, image analysis, computer vision and human perception - has been teaching computer science for more than a decade.

Farid also serves as chief technology officer and co-founder of photo forensics company Fourandsix Technologies.

The go-to consultant for image authentication and forensic photographic analysis appeared in the headlines recently for debunking doctored photos of Osama bin Laden's corpse and taking a closer look at former US rep Anthony Weiner's tweeted misdeeds.

With regards to the video screen by Datuk T the results of their reports "verified the authenticity of the video, that there was no tampering or any act of superimposing and that it originated from a DVR camcorder taken from Shazryl," said deputy public prosecutor Kamalluddin Md Said when reading the facts of the case in court on June 24.

Muhammad Shafee meanwhile showed a copy of the June 4 analysis to reporters during the trial but refused to allow the document to be reproduced.

The percentage of certainty was not included in the statement of facts read out in open court and the figure was blacked out in a copy of the statement obtained by Malaysiakini.

To date there are no known reports of the professors verifying Shafee's figures mentioned in court.

Don’t question judge’s decision on sex video, Bar council told

KUALA LUMPUR: The Bar Council should not question the judge's decision to screen the sex video implicating Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in court.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he was surprised by the Bar Council's reaction towards the judge's decision.

“I don't know why they are so interested. There seems to be a political motive behind it,” he told a press conference at the government-linked companies (GLC) open day here yesterday.

An online portal had quoted Bar Council president Lim Chee Wee as describing the magistrate court's decision to screen the video in court as “shocking” and “extraordinary” as those accused of screening the video had already pleaded guilty to the crime.

Muhyiddin said it was up to the public to decide whether to accept the findings of experts on the sex video or otherwise.

It was reported yesterday that US experts from Dartmouth College had confirmed that the sex video was authentic and there was a 99.99% possibility the man in the video was the Opposition Leader.

In Jitra, Anwar said he was attacked in the sex video case without being given the chance to defend himself.

“This is a criminal case where the three individuals were sentenced for a crime but both the prosecution and the defence counsel joined forces to attack me,” he claimed after opening the Kubang Pasu PKR office in Napoh near here yesterday.

Several Independent MPs had also called on Anwar to step down to preserve Parliament's sanctity in light of the testimonies by the foreign experts.

KUALA LUMPUR: The “Datuk T” trio who showed a sex video implicating Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim to journalists were convicted by a magistrate’s court here today after all three pleaded guilty.

Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and Shuaib Lazim, both businessmen and the main suspects in the case, were found guilty of screening obscene video to the public, while former Malacca chief minister Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik was convicted of abetting the two in committing the crime.

Shazryl was fined RM3,000 in default three months in prison, Shuaib was fined RM1,500 in default two months in prison, and Abdul Rahim was fined RM1,000 in default one month in prison.

More than 300 supporters gathered outside the court lobby to show solidarity with the convicted, who argued their cause was to prove Anwar morally unfit to become a leader.

The supporters turned rowdy as the three exited the court after they accepted the verdict.
“It is a mission accomplished today and we are very happy that we have proven to the people through the judicial system of the country,” Abdul Rahim told reporters.

“Now it is up to the people to decide the destiny of the country,” added Rahim, who himself faced prosecution for sexual assault on a minor years ago.

The trio exhibited a 20-minute video clip allegedly showing Anwar having sex with an anonymous woman at a hotel to a group of journalists three months ago, ahead of a state election in Sarawak.

Police who investigated the case told the court today they had sought help from experts from an academic institution in the United States to verify the video clip, which was later found to be authentic.

Investigation also found the man featured in the video clip bore a striking resemblance to Anwar.

The trio demanded 62-year-old Anwar and his wife, the president of opposition party PKR, to step down from their posts.

Anwar, who has been married for more than 30 years, denied he was the man in the clip and condemned the act as a “scurrilous attack” against him.

Majistret juga mengambil keputusan untuk melihat tayangan video lucah yang dirakam menggunakan empat kamera dalam mahkamah, disaksikan peguam and orang ramai.

Tayangan kira-kira 20 minit itu bagaimanapun dilajukan.

Sementara itu, kira-kira 200 penyokog Perkasa dan badan bukan kerajaan (NGO) lain hadir diperkarangan mahkamah membawa sepanduk menunggu sejak pagi bagi memberikan sokongan terhadap trio terbabit.

The Malaysiakini June 4 article 'Club to coach wives to be 'whores in bed'' that has drawn a lot of controversy. Thankfully, many women have voiced strong disagreement with the club.

Even the Syarie Lawyers Association (PGSM) deputy president Musa Awang in another Malaysiakini article dated June 8 titled 'Syarie lawyers: Wives are not mere sex objects' expressed outrage at such a move.

To me, such a club reflects a negative view - that Muslim wives have on the whole not been obedient.

I can only guess at the deep hurt felt by these wives because of the harsh criticisms and I feel for them. Little do men realise that every wife yearns for her husband's nurturing, permanent affection and respect.

Her wish is that he would love and cherish her, respect and value her and truly see her for who she really is. She is not a sex object to be used. She is a human being, created by God to partner man. She is different from man but his equal.

As a Christian wife, I hold very dear the truth that I am created by my maker and He has given me the creative potential to live out my life as a woman with dignity and honour.

My faith commands me to submit to my husband as the head of our home. I am to love, honour, respect and please him, and be his helpmate and companion.

My faith also commands my husband as the head of the home to love, respect, honour and protect me. He knows the success of our marriage relationship rests just as much upon his shoulders as on mine.

As his wife, I seek to submit to him because I love him and to honour God's command, not because I need to keep my husband by my side and stop him from straying. Do I consistently fulfill the requirements of my wifely role? No, I am painfully aware that I do not, but I am still learning...really!

Is my husband always totally pleased with me? I dare not make such a claim, but I do know he is also learning to understand my struggles and help me.

Is my husband always a good example of a leader of the home as required by our faith? Not always, but he is getting better at it every day and I love him all the more as I see him do his part and I see his progress.

The beautiful thing is that I am assured of my own value and worth. I know they are not pegged to my performance in the bedroom or elsewhere but come from my understanding of how I have been given life by God, my certainty of my identity. I also know I am most valuable to God.

Yes, I know I don't quite 'make the mark' at times. I am often not at my best and I am pretty sure I do disappoint my husband at one time or another. While he may express his displeasure with me, I am still assured that my husband will not evaluate or rate me as a woman or wife accordingly.

We both know it is never our performance that keeps us in each other's hearts. We know that we will not be diminished in each other's eyes nor have any less of each other's affection when either of us fail at a task, for that does not make us failures – that is merely an event in our lives, from which we can learn together to become better.

Do we have disagreements? Of course! But when we took our marriage vows before God, we knew it meant a lifelong commitment to one another, forsaking all others. It meant serving each other, nurturing and encouraging each other to strive to be the best God created us to be. It meant there must be an abiding love for one another…a love unconditional.

It means seeking God for wisdom and strength to build our marriage upon love and respect for each other and having an open and healthy communication at all times.

God's command that a man should give himself to only one wife is really for our own protection and well-being. What could be more rested and fulfilling than to know we are safe and accepted and can give of ourselves fully to one another in such intimacy of heart, mind and body and that any betrayal of that trust cannot happen, if the marriage is rooted in love and respect for each other and true reverence for God?

My heart goes out to those who feel they need to be members of an Obedient Wives' Club. I wonder how they are coping with the humiliation and criticisms and I hope they have the strength and wisdom to see themselves as valuable human beings. And I do hope their husbands recognise their worth.

Surely love and respect for one another in a marriage must be the foundation for a stable family life and these in turn should form the very basic thread for a healthy and whole community.

Wan Azizah ditawarkan sebagai ahli panel memandangkan beliau merupakan insan paling rapat dengan Anwar dan diharap dapat membantu merungkai siapa pelaku sebenar video seks tersebut.

PETALING JAYA: Presiden PKR Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail ditawar menyertai tiga ahli panel untuk menilai satu pencarian lelaki mirip Ketua Pembangkang Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yang didakwa adalah pelaku dalam klip video seks.

Pengerusi Parti Kesejahteraan Tanah Air (Kita) Kedah Zamil Ibrahim berkata Wan Azizah ditawarkan sebagai ahli panel memandangkan beliau merupakan insan paling rapat dengan Anwar dan diharap dapat membantu merungkai siapa pelaku sebenar video seks tersebut.
Menurut Zamil, tiga panel yang diundang khas sebelum ini terdiri daripada kalangan rapat Anwar iaitu ahli perniagaan Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, Presiden Kita Datuk Zaid Ibrahim dan bekas Ketua Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) yang juga Senator Dewan Negara Ezam Mohd Nor.

“Saya buka peluang kepada Wan Azizah untuk menjadi salah seorang pengadil dan ini merupakan satu penghormataan kepada beliau.

Beliau mengetahui luar dalam Anwar maka beliau wajar diberi peluang menjadi ahli panel.
“Sepanjang pencarian itu berlangsung saya terima hampir 300 panggilan serta e-mail dan kesemuanya hampir sama jawapannya – tiada mirip Anwar.

Namun ada lima orang pemanggil yang kata bekas Presiden Majlis Belia Malaysia Datuk Suhaimi Ibrahim mirip dengan susuk dalam video klip itu.

Bila diamati klip video itu, pemanggil berkata Shuhaimi lebih muda dan dada beliau bukan seperti yang dilihat dalam klip tersebut,” katanya kepada FMT.

Individu yang berjaya membawa seseorang mirip Anwar ini akan memperoleh ganjaran berupa sebuah kereta mewah jenis Rolls Royce dan wang tunai RM10,000.

Zamil berkata tawaran yang berakhir 10 Jun lepas dilanjutkan sehingga 10 Julai depan disebabkan permintaan orang ramai.

“Kita buka tawaran ini kepada orang ramai daripada seluruh negara Asia lebih-lebih lagi Thailand. Ini kerana terdapat dakwaan video itu dibuat di Thailand.

“Kita alu-alukan pemuda atau orang ramai di Asia untuk tampil membuktikan ada susuk lain mirip Anwar ini,” katanya yang juga merupakan bekas Ketua AMK.

Pada 21 Mac lepas, trio ‘Datuk T’ yang terdiri daripada bekas Ketua Menteri Melaka, Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik, Bendahari Perkasa Datuk Shuib Lazim dan ahli perniagaan Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah menayangkan klip video seks di Carcosa Seri Negara.

Bagaimanapun Anwar yang memberi keterangan berhubung isu video seks di Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Dang Wangi pada 28 April lalu menafikan dakwaan individu dalam klip video itu adalah dirinya.

More versions of sex clip leaked online

(Malaysiakini) More versions of the sex video clip, featuring a man who resembled opposition figure Anwar Ibrahim, has made its way online.

Links to a download site for the sex video clips, three in all, were posted on a blog called anwarcctv today.

Of the three clips posted, one shows the same four-frame black and white video footage that was screened to journalists at Carcosa Seri Negara in Kuala Lumpur on March 21.

However, the video clip has been edited down to 15 minutes and 3 seconds from the 22-minute-long clip shown during the screening by the 'Datuk T' group.

A second clip, which is 17 minutes and 59 seconds long, is a compilation of the four separate feeds in the previous video.

A third clip, 13 minutes and 36 seconds long, is another compilation of the four feeds but with several portions in slow motion, including the part where the man is depicted putting on his clothes.

Unlike the other clips, the third clip includes background music, beginning with the theme song for Hawaii Five-O, followed by a Kelantanese dangdut number, reggae artist Shaggy's It Wasn't Me, local group The Fabulous Cats' Papa Jahat and concludes with Zee Avi's Kantoi.

No Thai script this time

Also unlike several other clips released previously, one which included a white bar at the bottom of the screen with Thai script, the three clips released today are marked with a date and time stamp.

The Thai script in the earlier clip, which reads 'Phaholyothin Road, Bangkok, Thailand 10400, Copyright 2011', led some people to suspect that there were Thai links to the posting of the clip on the Internet.

With the most recent release of the four-frame video clips, questions will certainly be raised on the source of the leak.

The Datuk T trio of businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, former Malacca chief minister and Risda chairperson Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and former Perkasa treasurer Shuib Lazim, claim to have handed the original video clip to the police on March 24.

The police have since confirmed that the video clip is undoctored and said they have positively identified the man in the video. However, the police have refused to name the person.

The leak of the latest sex video clips also coincides with the elections to the PAS central leadership, which are being held today.

Some observers feel the sex video release was designed to drive a wedge between the conservative Islamist party and Anwar.

Several pro-Umno blogs and Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia have been strongly backing the so-called 'unity government' faction in PAS, which allegedly wants the party to leave Pakatan Rakyat.

PETALING JAYA: Orang ramai ditawarkan sebuah kereta mewah jenis Rolls Royce jika dapat membawa seorang yang mirip Ketua Pembangkang Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yang kononnya didakwa sebagai  pelaku klip video seks.

Tawaran itu dibuat oleh Pengerusi Parti Kesejahteraan Tanah Air (Kita) Kedah, Zamil Ibrahim memandangkan Anwar sebelum ini menafikan bahawa dirinya adalah pelaku dalam klip video berkenaan.

Bagaimanapun menurut Zamil tawaran itu akan berakhir 10 Jun depan dan tiga orang panel khas akan dijemput untuk membuat penilaian bagi mengesahkan pelaku itu.

Zamil berkata tiga penel termasuklah ahli perniagaan Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, Presiden Kita Datuk Zaid Ibrahim dan bekas Ketua Angkatan Muda Keadilan yang juga Senator Dewan Negara Ezam Mohd Nor.
Menurut Zamil, ketiga-tiga panel itu akan dijemput untuk mengesahkan entiti pelaku itu memandangkan mereka merupakan kenalan rapat Anwar.

“Anwar beri kenyataan bahawa pelaku dalam video seks itu bukan dia, muka hanya mirip saya. Anwar sendiri bermati-matian menafikan bahawa dia adalah pelakunya.

“Siapa yang mirip dia kalau pelaku itu adalah dia? Maka parti Kita Kedah nak tamatkan sandiwara Anwar…..dia tidak mahu mengaku sedangkan polis sudah kata video adalah tulen. Tapi Anwar tetap dengan sandiwaranya dengan buat laporan polis yang palsu.

Zamil menjelaskan beliau bertindak sedemikian untuk menamatkan kontroversi yang masih berpanjangan mengenai ‘siapa’ pelaku dalam video seks tersebut.

Beliau turut mencabar Anwar mahupun penyokong setia PKR untuk menampilkan pelaku yang mirip dengan pemimpin pembangkang itu.

“Saya cabar Anwar agar bercakap benar mengenai hal ini. Janganlah sentiasa berbohong sepanjang hidupnya. Hanya penyokong beliau yang masih tidak buka mata sedangkan hakikatnya rakyat sudah bosan dengan perlakuan peribadi Anwar ini.

“Maka saya tawarkan kereta Rolls Rocyce milik saya kepada mana-mana individu yang dapat menampilkan pelaku yang mirip seperti Anwar.

“Saya jemput penyokong-penyokong setia PKR serta Anwar sendiri untuk tampilkan pelaku dalam video seks itu sebagai bukti kepada penafiannya,” katanya kepada FMT.

Shazryl Eskay gave a mere interview with Utusan Malaysia. I signed a legal document, a Statutory Declaration, and my lawyer, J. Chandra, sent it officially by way of letter to the prosecutors in the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial.
Going by what the Umno Information Chief said, then the Malaysian government has to now prove that what I signed in that 2008 SD is false. I need not prove what I signed is true -- just like Shazryl Eskay does not need to prove what he said about Anwar is true.
This means the government has to first of all drop the three S.501 Criminal Defamation charges against me (not just ‘discharge not amounting to an acquittal’). Then the government needs to investigate my SD and prove that what I signed is false.
Only when it is proven that what I signed is false can the government, again, charge me -- but this time for the crime of signing a false statutory declaration under S.203.
That’s why! These lowly educated Melayu from Umno want to try to play psy-war and spin-doctoring. But they don’t know how. Maslan may be the Umno Information Chief but that does not mean he is clever.
Remember, back in 1999 Anwar Ibrahim was convicted of corruption and sodomy and was sentenced to 15 years jail because, according to the court, he had failed to convince the court of his innocence.
Get it? Anwar was jailed 15 years not because he was found guilty. He was jailed 15 years because he failed to convince the court of his innocence.
Okay, our laws may be based on the doctrine of innocent until proven guilty. But that only applies to people who suck up to Umno. For those who oppose Umno it is the other way around.
So, can I hear it from the Malaysian government? Are you going to drop the three Criminal Defamation charges against me and, like what the Umno Information Chief said, prove that what I signed in my SD is false?
Then, and only then, if you can prove that what I signed in my SD is false, can you charge me for the crime of signing a false SD. This is what Umno says must be done and I, for once, would be most happy to listen to Umno.
