ISIL Sudanese mufti distributes heavenly women among his followers!

ABNA

Recently, one of the ISIL muftis in Sudan, with distorting the narrations of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), has tried to induce young Sudanese to join terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria.

To encourage his audience he distributed Hoor Al-ayn (heavenly women) among them and said: "Whoever to be killed at the hands of the heretics will receive 72 virgin Hoor Al-ayn in janat (heaven) and they can intercede for 70 members of their families on the Day of Judgment.

He continued: "But, whoever to be killed at the hands of Americans will receive 144 virgin Hoor Al-ayn in janat and they are able to intercede for 140 members of their families.

It was not enough for him, so he falsely added another narrative and said: "Our prophet allowed us to kill children and women of infidels"!

Syria crisis: 66,000 flee Islamic State into Turkey

(BBC) Some 66,000 refugees - mainly Syrian Kurds - have crossed into Turkey in 24 hours, officials say, as Islamic State militants advance in northern Syria.

Turkey opened its border on Friday to Syrians fleeing the Kurdish town of Kobane in fear of an IS attack.

The UN refugee agency said it was boosting relief efforts as hundreds of thousands more could cross the border.

IS controls large areas of Syria and Iraq, and has seized dozens of villages around Kobane, also called Ayn al-Arab.

Turkey - which shares a border with Iraq and Syria - has taken in more than 847,000 refugees since the uprising against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad began three years ago.

But the opening of the border has seen a dramatic increase in the past 24 hours.

"As of today, the number of Syrian Kurds who entered Turkey has exceeded 60,000," Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus told reporters on Saturday.

He was speaking from the southern Turkish province of Sanliurfa, where many of the refugees have sought shelter.

Separately, a Turkish government official told the BBC's Mark Lowen that the number is as high as 66,000.

Dalai Lama Tells Muslims: ‘Jihad’ Is Meant ‘To Combat Our Inner Destructive Emotions’

The Dalai Lama is certainly an influential religious leader in the world but usually he stays away from controversial comments, especially when it comes to other religions.

But on Saturday the holy man decided it was high-time to speak out against violence perpetrated in the name of religion and God, in this case using the Muslim precedent of “Jihad” or holy war which, he says is being misinterpreted and misused by extremist Islam.

The Dalai Lama, who is also a nobel Peace prize winner, was referring specifically to the current atrocities being carried out by ISIS in Syria and Iraq, in the name of “Allah” and the “religion of peace.’

AFP reported that, speaking at a meeting of India’s religious leaders in Saturday, including a senior Muslim cleric, the Roman Catholic archbishop of Bombay and the head of the Jewish community in Delhi at a two-day conference, the Dalai Lama said, “Killing in the name of faith is unacceptable.”

He raised the issue of “Jihad,” the arabic word or concept for “holy war,” a concept which, like most things is subject to interpretation with the more extreme streams of Islam claiming that it means literally killing and torturing people who are not Muslim.

The Daily Mail reported that at the meeting over the weekend the Dalai Lama said that in his opinion holy war should be a struggle “to combat our inner destructive emotions, it (jihad) does not mean harming other people.”

And while that statement makes a lot of sense to many people in the west, it isn’t really the reality on the ground as an expert on Islam, Professor Rafi Israeli, told reporters that, in his opinion, “cruelty is a part of Islam,” arguing that the religion has a basic disregard for human life.

He noted excerpts from the Koran that call on Muslims globally to spread terror among their enemies without specifying who precisely those enemies are.

The Dalai Lama added that, “if we remain indifferent to what is happening around us, it is wrong. The spiritual people can show the world that it can be a happy family (despite) the different faiths.”

Show proof I was bought, Selangor PAS rep dares Hadi - TMI

Saari (2nd from right) with Dr Wan Azizah and other PKR and DAP state assemblymen at a press conference last month. - The Malaysian Insider pic, September 21, 2014.One of the two PAS Selangor legislators who were accused by Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang of giving in to “brokers and pimps” has challenged the party president to produce evidence that he had been bought to support PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for the Selangor mentri besar post.

The Star Online reported today that Saari Sungib, who is Hulu Kelang assemblyman, clarified he signed the statutory declaration (SD) supporting Dr Wan Azizah in order to deny the current Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim the chance to cause further damage to the state.

It reported Saari as saying that Khalid claimed he had the majority support, and had started sacking executive council members, without consulting any of the state assemblymen if they supported him.

“The aim was to deny Khalid. However, the lawyers explained that the state assemblymen need to support another candidate in order to legitimise the SD, so we supported Dr Wan Azizah because PKR and DAP had agreed to her nomination,” Saari was quoted as saying by the portal.

He said his only wrongdoing was to help safeguard Pakatan Rakyat’s grip on Selangor, and criticised PAS for allowing its members to revile and insult him without knowing the full story, The Star reported.

Saari took umbrage at the Islamic scholars in PAS allowing a motion to condemn him, which he said constituted punishment before trial.

Even the permanent chairman did not intervene when a delegate prayed for God’s wrath upon him at the PAS Muktamar last week, Saari said in the report.

“This is very shameful to the party,” he was quoted as saying.

Hadi had in his winding-up speech yesterday berated Saari and Hasnul Baharuddin, the PAS assemblyman for Morib, for signing statutory declarations in support of Dr Wan Azizah.

Hadi and the PAS Dewan Ulamak have publicly disagreed with the choice of Dr Wan Azizah to replace Khalid.

With the support of Saari and Hasnul, Dr Wan Azizah has the backing of 30 of the 56 members in the Selangor legislative assembly.

However, the Selangor palace is expected to announce someone else for the appointment of new mentri besar tomorrow, with the swearing-in scheduled for Tuesday. – September 21, 2014.

'Parliamentary democracy will collapse'

The parliamentary democracy system in Malaysia will "collapse" if the majority party is unable to choose its own nominee for the Selangor menteri besar position, warned electoral watchdog Bersih today.

Its chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah said if an "unelected body" chooses the head of government, the nation's future after the 14th general election will be uncertain.

"Bersih 2.0 calls upon all parties to respect the rules of the game, enshrined not only in the established Westminster constitutional conventions, but also explicitly in Selangor state constitution which stipulates that any assemblyperson must ‘command the confidence of the majority of the members of the assembly’.

"We remind all parties that what is at stake in the Selangor menteri besar crisis is not about who is the best candidate for the chief executive office.

"It is about whether our parliamentary democracy – the very basis of our constitutional monarchy - can continue to function, not only now for Selangor but possibly also at the federal level after the next election," she added in a statement.

She said that "extra-constitutional means" may be attractive to all parties in a prolonged power struggle, while forgetting that the whole episode might destabilise the nation.

Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah is slated to appoint a new menteri besar on Tuesday, but it is widely expected that the new MB will not be PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is PKR and DAP's choice for the post.

Wan Azizah also has 30 signed statutory declarations by state assemblypersons backing her in the 56-member state assembly.

Speculation is rife that PKR deputy president Azmin Ali may be appointed.

Dr M: PAS’ crisis result of working with Anwar Ibrahim

(Bernama) – The crisis within PAS between the ulama and the professionals should be a lesson to the party as it resulted from their cooperation with Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“This (problem) is the result of their cooperation with Datuk Seri Anwar, anyone who works with him will face problems because he likes to divide,” the former prime minister told reporters here.

Dr Mahathir was commenting on the crisis within the second largest Malay party in the country which was obvious during the 60th PAS assembly in Johor recently.

“He can split his own supporters, you can see he has a history like that. When he joined Umno, he brought problems, he formed Pakatan, he created problems,” he said adding that it should serve as a lesson to PAS.

Earlier, Dr Mahathir presented prizes to winners of the Head of Putrajaya 2014 Rowing and Long Boat Championship at the Water Sports Complex in Putrajaya.

Jeffrey calls for transfer of Batu Sumpah DO

He says the Oath Stone monument should have been opened to the public on Sept 16.

Keningau: Bingkor Assemblyman Jeffrey Kitingan has called for the transfer of Keningau District
Officer Yusof Osman for saying that the opposition is not allowed to use government facilities.

“I want to know if the statement is his or was directed by his higher-ups,” he said. “If so, name them or I will take the matter to court.

“Is Batu Sumpah exclusively for the government? Is it not for the people?

“Even though I am the leader of Star, I am also a leader of the people and I have the right to hold the memorial ceremony on the historical day of September 16.”

He pointed out that the Oath Stone memorial was created to symbolise the agreement between the people in the interior and the Federal Government.

The memorial should have been opened on Sept 16 to allow Malaysians and tourists to visit it, he said.

A local newspaper quoted Yusof as saying that government policy does not allow any opposition party to enter the compound of government offices for rallies and special events.

On the Oath Stone, Yusof had said the public could only visit the site during office hours on Mondays to Friday, but all day on public holidays.

Sept 16, Jeffrey pointed out, was a public holiday.

Sisters wake up, stand up for your gender

Women hold up half the sky and Malaysian women have tremendous political power and clout.

By Tota

I am not interested in the political circus being played out in Selangor over the appointment of the Menteri Besar. But I am concerned about the gender issue that has cropped up with regard to the candidacy of Dr Wan Azizah Ismail, the president of PKR, for the post of Menteri Besar of Selangor.

Many forces – defeated, discredited, disgraced and discarded politicians, misogynists, the corrupt, parasites with power and those living in sin – have all had their two-cent worth of say as to why Wan Azizah should not be appointed MB.

Let us examine the reasons advanced for her “disqualification”. The Umno legal adviser said that a woman should not be appointed MB because her menstrual cycle would make her indisposed to accompany the Sultan on official duties. What a stupid reason. Currently, there are more than a dozen women presidents or prime ministers all over the world. These are secular democracies, modern and progressive, which grant equal rights to women, unlike ours which many believe is a failed state.

The claim that Wan Azizah would be a remote-controlled MB is equally stupid. When Mukhriz Mahathir leap-frogged over many senior Umno members and became MB, the question of a remote-controlled MB never became an issue. Well, when Mukhriz became Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry although he came out third in the Umno Youth elections, no one said that that appointment was possible only because Najib was a remote-controlled PM.

The claim that Wan Azizah does not have the capability to become MB and lead the state is despicable. She was the first Malaysian to win a gold medal in obstetrics and gynaecology from the prestigious Dublin College of Surgeons. Then she graduated as an ophthalmologist. Since 2000, when Anwar Ibrahim was imprisoned, she has been PKR president. She led the party successfully in the 12th and 13th general elections. What further proof of her leadership qualities is required?

Those who predict that Wan Azizah would not be a capable leader remind me of the two bomohs, armed with their coconuts and bamboo binoculars, who predicted that MH370 would land at KLIA in a few days. Wasn’t it the Selangor palace that appointed Harun Idris as MB even though his questionable role in the May 13 tragedy was apparent? He later ended up in prison for corruption. Wasn’t it the Selangor palace that appointed Khir Toyo, who is facing corruption charges? Why would Wan Azizah not be far superior to such elements?

We are often told that we practise Westminster-style democracy. Utter nonsense, I say. In the 1956 Suez Crisis, a badly mauled British prime minister, Anthony Eden, Churchill’s son-in-law, resigned as premier. His deputy was Butler, an academician. The next day, the newspapers’ caption was “Butler for PM”.

Queen Elizabeth played her constitutional monarchy’s role well. Her sole criterion for calling on someone from the Conservative party to form the government was whether he commanded majority support in Parliament. After consultation with Conservative leaders, she invited Macmillan to form the government. Queen Elizabeth never commented about the candidate’s ability and talent and never pretended to look into the future and indulge in prophecy.

Evil forces

This is the 21st century, and evil forces that abuse and misuse their powers to deny women their rights and their rightful place in society must be condemned. The Umno-dominated BN has been in power since 1957 and despite pronouncements, promises and platitudes, the target of 30 per cent women in top posts in both the public and private sectors remains unachieved and unachievable.

Unless women wake up and empower themselves and defeat the forces that wilfully hinder their progress and the achievement of their objectives, their position in Malaysian society will remain as it is.

Let us look at the current position of women in the country. Data from the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry shows that in 2013 women made up 13.1% cabinet ministers and deputy ministers. Only in Pakatan Rakyat-controlled states have a woman speaker and a woman mayor been appointed – something that BN has never permitted.

Dear Malaysian Malay, Chinese, Indian, Kadazan, Iban, Dayak etc. sisters, you should rightfully feel the outrage at what the male chauvinists are doing to a fine woman leader. More than 50% of the voters are women. You have tremendous political power and clout.

Wanita Umno, MCA and MIC are self-serving. Just look at Rafidah Aziz and Shahrizat Jalil and their families. Their lifestyle – the palaces they live in, the cars they drive, the designer clothes they wear, their children studying overseas and their overseas holidays – speaks of betrayal of the women they are supposed to fight for. The next time they come to your doorsteps to get your vote, just tell them to get lost.

Mao Tse Tung said that women hold up half the sky. The Women’s Lib urged women to stop rocking the cradle and start rocking the boat. Shakespeare said that “whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad” – something we are witnessing in Selangor. Dear women, you can be the agents to destroy the agents of evil.

If Wan Azizah is not appointed MB of Selangor, it would be a terrible injustice to an able and noble woman.
