Woman Believed To Have Stabbed Her Newborn Baby To Death

KLANG, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- A Myanmar woman is believed to have stabbed her new born baby girl to death at her rented house in Batu 4, Kampung Jawa at about 12 noon Tuesday.

The 23-year-old woman who was staying alone in the house before giving birth was believed to have repeatedly stabbed the baby and placed at her bathroom.

Shah Alam police chief Supt. Zahedi Ayob said the suspect who a United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) card was believed to have given birth at about 9am.

"We received a call at 12.45pm from members of the public who were suspicious of what was happening in the house. Upon arrival at the house, we found the baby in the bathroom and the suspect looking very weak," he told reporters here Tuesday.

Zahedi said the body of the baby which was found in a pool of blood, was sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) for post-mortem.
