When the Malaysian police are victims of crime

(Bernama) - Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein told the Dewan Rakyat today that the Royal Malaysian Police Force lost 62 firearms, comprising 36 semi-automatic pistols, 51 revolvers and two sub-machine guns, since 2001.

Hishammuddin in a written reply to Chua Tian Chang (PKR-Batu) said, of the 62 weapons lost, only 28 units were recovered, namely four semi-automatic pistols and 24 revolvers.

He added that 58 police vehicles had also been reported lost, comprising 49 motorcycles, three cars, a van and a four-wheel drive.

Chua had made a written request for the Home Minister to report how many logistic equipment, including vehicles and firearms, the police force (PDRM) had lost since 2001.
