UMNO’s peanuts and temporary solutions for Indians

A one off peanuts and temporary RM 100 grant and a photo opportunity with a poor Indian lady is largely what UMNO does for the Malaysian Indian poor in the RM 191.5 billion 2010 National budget. But this is UMNO’s brand of ‘tradisi bela rakyat’ (UM 9/6/10 at page 27).
This poor Indian lady may only have received a one off RM 100 as has been complained to us, although the newsreport gives an impression of RM 300 per month and continuing  until this lady’s last days.
If really implemented, it would mean the world to hundreds of thousands of Indian poor in their golden years.
