Hindraf heroes at HRP briefing; Not pleading guilty to 25th November 2007 Hindraf Rally

1 (5)Hindraf heroes at HRP briefing; Not pleading guilty to 25th November 2007 Hindraf Rally
On 21/4/10 A group of 23 Hindraf heroes who were unlawfully arrested detained, denied bail (initially), and maliciously prosecuted for unlawful assembly during the 25th November 2007 Hindraf Rally, were charged at the Kuala Lumpur sessions court.
These Hindraf heroes after having briefed on the pros and cons of pleading guilty maintained that they wanted to go through with the criminal prosecution knowing that the UMNO controlled Malay-sian Judiciary may eventually put them in jail for merely exercising their right to assemble peacefully without arms as is enshrined in Article 10 of the Federal Constitution.
1 (6)These Hindraf heroes were briefed by Lawyers Manogaran (M.P Teluk Intan), P.Uthayakumar, Chandrasegar and S.Jayathas.
A question and answer and clarification session ended the two and a half meeting. Earlier a video presentation on the Hindraf struggle prepared by S.Jayathas was played.
The Hindraf heroes left even more convinced with their struggle.
