SHAH ALAM: The widow of murdered contractor S. Sivanathan, who was slashed while asleep in his home in February, claimed trial at the High Court yesterday to abetting in his murder.

R. Kavitha, 31, a housewife and part-time insurance agent, was said to have abetted by helping television cable installer L. Vasanthakumar, 22, and labourer R. Rathakrishnan, 20, enter her home and ordering them to kill her husband.


The alleged offence occurred in Kavitha's home at 22, Lorong Batu Nilam 17E, Bandar Bukit Tinggi 2 here at 9am on Feb 22.

Vasanthakumar and Ratha-krishnan also claimed trial in the same court to murdering Sivanthan, 31 at the same time and place.

Judicial commissioner Datuk Mohd Yazid Mustafa fixed May 28 for mention.
Kavitha, Vasanthakumar and Rathakrishnan were first charged at the Klang magistrate's court on March 16. Their cases were then transferred to the High Court here.

According media to reports, Kavitha had claimed she was held hostage in a room in her house with their 3-year-old daughter during the incident.

Deputy public prosecutor Hidayatul Syuhada Shamsudin prosecuted while Kavitha was represented by T. Vijayandran. V. Rajehgopal and V. Ayasamy represented Vasanthakmuar and Rathakrishnan, respectively.
