Sanjeevan recovering

Sanjeevan is on the road to recovery while father awaits appointment with Bukit Aman.

PETALING JAYA: MyWatch chief R Sri Sanjeevan’s condition is improving since last Thursday after undergoing a four hour surgery to remove the bullet, says his father P Ramakrishnan.

“At the moment his condition has improved, but due to high dose of drugs and ventilator support, he’s still drowsy,” he said.

According to MyWatch advisor S Gobi, Sanjeevan’s father had informed him that he even opened his eyes and was able to move his hand; but could not yet talk as he is on a ventilator.

Awaiting appointment with police

Meanwhile, in response to the police investigations and the bullet issue, both Ramakrishnan and Gobi stated that they are waiting for an appointment with the Bukit Aman CID director Hadi Ho Abdullah.

“Today I will be getting the appointment date and time to meet the CID director to further discuss the case being investigated. We hope to see him anytime soon within this week,” said Gobi

The anti-crime chief was shot in the abdomen on July 27 at his hometown, Bahau, Negeri Sembilan by two men on a motorcycle in what is believed to be an assassination attempt to silence him.

Since then, he was treated at Serdang Hospital and due to his unfavourable condition the operation was delayed.

Last Tuesday, Sanjeevan’s father requested the case to be transferred from Negeri Sembilan to Bukit Aman police.

He believed that there could be a conflict of interest as his son had lodged reports against several Negeri Sembilan police officers in regards to abuse of power.

Chaos erupted at the Serdang hospital on the day of the surgery as Sanjeevan’s father objected to Negeri Sembilan’s police officers taking the removed bullet for investigations.

To calm the situation down, the CID director Hadi Ho Abdullah informed both Ramakrishnan and Gobi that the said bullet was indeed taken to the forensics department in Cheras. He further assured that senior police officers will conduct the investigations on the shooting incident.
