O.O TMI:
I mean, I will grant it’s anyone’s right to make as many police reports as they want about anything, but now all eyes will be on the authorities.
If they so much as do anything beyond taking a statement (preferably at TMI’s own office, not at some sketchy place late at night), I think we should all be ready to object and call out this nonsense.
I don’t think anyone is under any illusions as to what BTN is really there for – to continue propagating hate and driving wedges in society, all in the hopes of perpetuating Umno-BN hegemony.
We’ve all heard first hand accounts from students and other individuals who have had to endure these things (if only we were hard working enough to compile them).
The other part that really got to me was: “If you report about what was said privately, you are jeopardising the country’s racial harmony”
This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. What is jeapordising harmony is the racism that fler is spewing, not the people reporting it!!!
This idiot thinks that if only we don’t report on racism, then racism doesn’t exist. Fools like this end up like the emperor with no clothes :P
As I’ve tried to explain in great length, it is exactly racism in private that is the greatest threat to unity.
Instead of reporting it less, we should report it more to shame the inner racist in all of us!
Perkasa Youth chief Arman Azha Abu Hanifah said he had accompanied BTN deputy director Hamim Husain to lodge a police report against The Malaysian Insider for “misinterpreting” the contents of his speech during a Puteri Umno function last week.Sigh, want to say surprised also cannot say surprised la :P After all, remember Tan Hoon Cheng? :P
“He (Hamim) had lodged a report against the reporter and the news company for entering a private function, as well as misinterpreting what he had said,” claimed Arman.
“Perkasa stands firm with Hamim. He is not wrong with what he said… it was said during a private closed-door function. Media has to respect when it is a private function. If you report about what was said privately, you are jeopardising the country’s racial harmony,” said Arman.
Last week Hamim, during a closed-door Puteri Umno function, referred to the Chinese and Indian communities as “Si Mata Sepet” and “Si Botol” respectively when asking Puteri Umno members to approach the non-Malays for votes.
“The ‘si mata sepet’ that has never gone to a mosque or surau only has one vote. The ‘si botol’ that only knows how to go up to Batu Caves up and down only has one vote,” Hamim told the closed-door gathering, as reported in The Malaysian Insider.
