Nik Aziz Dismisses Talk Of Exco Reshuffle

KOTA BAHARU, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat on Wednesday dismissed talk of a reshuffle of the state executive council, saying it was just a rumour.

"I give my assurance that there will not be any reshuffle of the state executive council," he told reporters after chairing the weekly meeting of the council, here.

On the transfer of several senior government officers, he said it was a routine procedure to improve the state administration.

On the state government's decision to bring back the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Ismail Petra, who is receiving treatment at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, to be treated at a hospital in the country, Nik Aziz said it was a psychological move to remind the people to pray for the ruler's well-being.

He said the government was awaiting the medical results of the sultan before going ahead.

Nik Aziz, who is also PAS spiritual leader, said he had praise for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for his efforts in helping the Muslims in southern Thailand.

He said he had to acknowledge the good in a person even if he was a political rival.
