KOTA BARU, Aug 11 — PAS will not entertain any of Umno’s call for PAS to leave the opposition pact, its spiritual leader, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said today.
He said PAS would not be influenced by others in determining its stand on its existing relationship with the DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat.
Nik Abdul Aziz, who is also Kelantan mentri besar, said this when asked to comment on the call by Umno Youth for PAS to quit the opposition pact following polemics among its partners.
Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin had also urged PAS to leave the opposition pact, saying the party was no longer respected by the DAP.
Nik Aziz said PAS’ decision to stay in the pact had been agreed upon at the party’s assembly in Ipoh, last year. – Bernama
