PADANG SERAI, July 19 (Bernama) -- The Indian community support for
Barisan Nasional (BN) has risen to over 70 per cent following government
aid amounting RM415 million to improve their living standard.
MIC vice-president Datuk SK Devamany said the aid was distributed via
Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia or AIM (RM100mln), Tabung Ekonomi Kumpulan
Usahawan Malaysia or Tekun (RM65mln) and RM250 million allocation to
entrepreneurs.
"The Indian community must be informed as many are unaware of this," he
said after presenting 'Belia Gemilang' awards organised by Padang Serai
MIC diviison in Taman Kangkong, Lunas, last night.
Devamany said the tendency of the Indian community to support the BN has grown and MIC is confident of the winds of change.
"The middle Indian intellectual community don't forget the good deeds
of past leaders who fought for the country's independence."
